Memorial Medical Center Parking Garage

UPDATE: Klenck Company has begun demolition activities on the Memorial Medical Center parking garage project. After extensive pre-demolition timber erection and adjacent building protections, the Volvo 360 UHD excavator begins demolition on the North face of the building. The secondary machine, a Volvo 330 with Universal Processor and concrete cracker head, works to aid in the structural demolition. The timbers will be salvaged during the project and reused, the concrete will be crushed and utilized on future construction projects, and the scrap steel will be sent to the recycling yard. Once complete, 99% by weight of the will be reused or repurposed.
Wabash River Bridge Demolition

With a wide array of specialty pieces of equipment, knowledgeable staff, and the ability to process large amounts of scrap steel, Klenck Company was able to complete the demolition of the former Wabash River Bridge in Mt. Rio Tinto Alcan

261 Furnace Excavation, 2011: As a complimentary project, Klenck Company was again tasked with the 261E ABF tub excavation. Although a similar project in nature, the 261E package required a 24 hour/ day operation to meet stringent deadlines. RTA allowed the contractor 8 days to complete the operation; Klenck Company need only 6 1/2 days. 16,000 tons of debris was excavated from the twin furnace bays and crushed onsite. Once the debris was removed, laser grade boxes were used to maintain grade specifications over the 45,000 square foot area. Such adherence to the tight tolerances allowed future subcontractors to begin work without delay.
General Electric
Owensboro, KY
General Electric tasked Klenck Company with the removal of un-auctioned machinery and the remaining MEP once the Owensboro plant had shut down. The large interior space allowed for our Fuchs 350 wheeled excavator and steel shear to be taken from the scrap yard and employed onsite. Once the larger steel was processed, a Cat 308 mini-excavator equipped with a steel shear began cutting small ferrous and larger nonferrous materials to recycle.
Evansville Arena/Executive Inn Parking Garage

Klenck Company is proud to be the demolition contractor of choice for the new arena project. Klenck Company prides itself on offering recycling solutions along with demolition services. Evansville Arena Recycle Hauling

As a member of the US Green Building Counsel, Klenck Company believes waste diversion is an important component of construction management. Klenck Company is working with the team from Hunt Construction Group, as well as multiple subcontractors, at the new Evansville Arena to provide recycling solutions for concrete, ferrous and nonferrous scrap metals, wood, cardboard and packaging, and C&D materials. It is the goal of Klenck Company to become the only full service Material Recycling Facility in the Tri-State. Recycling at the Evansville Arena is a fine beginning.
Evansville Main Street Buildings

To make way for the new LEED Silver Evansville Arena, seven structures required removal. The challenge was not in the demolition , it was the schedule. Hunt Construction Group set a completion date that allowed only three weeks for building demolition, foundation removal, and structural backfill of remaining voids. To minimize impact to the surrounding construction, all seven buildings were brought down in six hours during an evening shift. Klenck Company turned over this project 12 days ahead of schedule. To further illustrate the crew’s ability—the contents of the building were recycled or reused at a rate of 63% by weight.
Cedar Hall School

Klenck Company was charged with the sitework and the eventual demolition of the old school. Working with Arc Construction to complete this LEED certified project, Klenck Company also is also handling the waste removal and recycling. Due to our certified scales and photo documentation capabilities, Arc Construction is able to provide documentation for the desired LEED points.
Glenwood School

A 70,000 cubic yard import/export project, the addition to Glenwood School allowed Klenck Company to showcase our sitework abilities. Included in our package were the dirt work, storm, sanitary, domestic water pipe and fire supply line.
Berry Plastics
Evansville, IN
Klenck Company congratulates Berry Plastics on the expansion in Evansville, Indiana. Brick and concrete within these three buildings were trucked, then crushed and recycled at our facility. Klenck Company offers these products to anyone from General Contractors to landscapers.
American General Midtown Buildings
Evansville, IN
Industrial Contractors Incorporated and American General Financial Services tasked Klenck Company with the structural demolition of these downtown staples. Prior to demolition, building materials were removed and incorporated into other buildings.
Ameren Power Station
Newton, IL
The project began with the demolition of 3 steel buildings and has evolved to site excavation and foundation removal to allow for the expansion and scrubber installation at the Ameren Power Station. The foundations needing to be removed were 60” thick and 15’ to 30’ wide. Large hydra-hammers and excavators have been employed to complete the contract work.
Six Barrel Concrete Silo Demolition
Mt. Vernon, IN
The 155’ tall riverfront concrete silo has stood in Mt. Vernon, Indiana since 1953. With the assistance of federal grants and city fundraisers, Klenck Company will be changing the riverfront skyline shortly. The silo was coated with a silver asbestos paint and needs to be removed before demolition can start. Once the structure is down, the clean concrete will reduced in size and utilized as roadbed on future projects and the steel reinforcing bar will be recycled at our scrap yard. A GPS equipped bulldozer will place the surrounding landscape to grade and a retaining wall will be built. The City plans a fantastic new park and Klenck Company is pleased to be a part of our community’s project.
Vanderburgh County Jail

Working for the City of Evansville, Klenck Company removed the interior steel jail cells making way for new office space. Klenck crews used negative air pressure machines to remove contaminated air generated by the cutting operation. As always, safety is our #1 priority.
